Registration Now Open for Pre-Season Rust Busters!

Hi MDRA Families,

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer and getting excited for the return of ringette season!

Before we jump into September, MDRA is excited to offer Rust Busters during the final week of August. These sessions are designed to help athletes get comfortable back on the ice, shake off the summer rust, and build confidence heading into the 2026-2027 season.

Registration can be done via our RAMP portal.

Rust Busters will be led by Keira Kirkpatrick, a long-time member of the MDRA community. Keira grew up playing ringette with Metcalfe and has been involved in the sport for over 18 years in every capacity. She continues to play, referee, coach and volunteer today and is passionate about helping develop the next generation of MDRA athletes. Keira also worked alongside Allie Figley last season during our skills and skating development sessions and is excited to bring that experience into these preseason sessions.

Each Rust Busters session will include:

• Skating skills, edgework, and conditioning
• Ring skills and game situations
• Small-area drills and competition
• Plays similar to what athletes will see during September sort outs

These sessions are a great opportunity for athletes to:

• Get comfortable back on the ice after the summer break
• Build confidence before evaluations
• Reconnect with teammates and friends
• Enter the season feeling prepared and ready to go

Registration Details

• Cost: $25 per athlete, per session
• Maximum: 20 skaters per session
• Goalies are welcome too!
• Registration: Available through RAMP
• Athletes are welcome to register for individual sessions or all three sessions.
