New FUN3 staging approach

The FUN3 program will look a little different for the 2024/25 season. The National Capital Region Ringette League (NCRRL) has implemented a new 2-stage approach for the FUN3 program. The goal is to optimize player development, enhance player retention, and create a more inclusive environment for all participants.

As usual, in September, we will conduct player assessments to evaluate player skill levels and developmental needs. This year we will be using the new NCRRL Skills Assessment Tool to identify players as either Stage 1 or Stage 2.

  • Stage 1 is targeted towards new players and those requiring additional time to acquire basic skills.
  • Stage 2 is targeted towards more experienced or advanced beginner players

Once the assessments are complete, players will be placed on either a Stage 1 or Stage 2 team according to their skill level.

NCRRL will be releasing a Questions and Answers document in the coming weeks. We will make this information available as soon as possible.

Come Try Ringette

We will be co-hosting a Come Try Ringette session with Nepean. Ages 4 to 11 are welcome! Skates, multi-impact helmets and gloves are required. Sticks will be provided. This is an on-ice session with qualified instructors so kids can try the sport. Representatives from the associations will be present to answer questions about registration and programming.

Location: Nepean Sportsplex, Arena 2 (1701 Woodroffe Ave)
Date: Sunday, September 8
Time: Registration at 1:30pm and on ice from 2:00pm to 3:00pm
