Volunteers Needed
Dear MDRA Families,
As we prepare for the 2026-2027 competitive tryouts, we are reaching out to invite parents, guardians, and community members to volunteer in support of the tryout process.
Competitive tryouts require significant behind-the-scenes support, and our volunteers play a key role in ensuring sessions run smoothly, fairly, and in compliance with Ringette Ontario requirements.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are currently seeking volunteers for a variety of off-ice and on-ice roles, including:
- Registration and athlete check-in
- On-ice coach support (for those who are qualified)
- Time clock and shot-clock operation
- Door opener (on bench)
- Den moms (for those who are qualified)
- Trainer (for those who are qualified)
Sign Up to Volunteer
Volunteer registration is now open using our SignupGenius tool. Families can sign up for available shifts based on their availability, and we welcome volunteers even if you are only able to assist at one session. Children under 18 are also welcome to volunteer to complete their volunteer hours (only available for the door opener, time clock and shot clock operator roles).
Evaluation Integrity Guidelines
To protect the integrity of the evaluation process:
- Volunteers may not be assigned to the sign-in desk, on-ice roles or to the same bench as their own family member
- Off-ice roles such as den moms, trainers, and clock/shot-clock operators are permitted, even if your family member is participating in tryouts
These guidelines help ensure a fair and transparent process for all athletes.Thank you in advance for your time and support of our competitive program.
